Moruya Materials Recycling Facility
Moruya Case Study
Recycling rates in the Bega Valley Shire and Eurobodalla Shire have nearly tripled as the result of a new kerbside collection service and the launch of a revamped Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) at Moruya.
WSN worked with local companies including Yumaro Supported Employment (a disability services provider), supplied more advanced equipment for the
Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) and provided supervision and training for MRF staff.
The MRF started operating in December 2005 and has already improved recycling rates by 250%. It provides employment for around 14 disabled people and has created local employment opportunities previously unavailable.
