White Goods
The white goods category covers large household appliances, such as refrigerators,
stoves, and washing machines.
Will SITA Environmental Solutions accept my white goods?
SITA Waste and Recycling Centres accept white goods — including refrigerators,
stoves and washing machines — free of charge.
Please note that our Artarmon
facility will accept a maximum of four white good items (e.g. fridges,
stoves, washing machines) per visit.
Larger quantities may be accepted by prior arrangement.
Please call our Customer Service staff on 1300 651 116 for more information.
What else can I do with my white goods?
If you live in metropolitan Sydney and have a working second fridge that
is at least 10 years old and larger than 250 litres, you can participate
in the Fridge
Buyback program. By participating,
you'll save energy, save money, AND you may even be eligible to receive
a rebate of $35. The refrigerant gas in your fridge will be properly removed,
the metals in it will be recycled, and you'll be reducing greenhouse gas
emissions, as well as lowering your electricity bills.
Many scrap metal dealers will also be happy to accept white goods, but
make sure you check with the company first before delivering your items.
