Technology Solutions
We are pioneering the shift from landfill
to resource recovery with the use of technology solutions that treat waste
as a valued resource, divert waste away from landfill and produce outputs
such as compost and green electricity.
We launched Sydney's first Advanced
Resource Recovery Technology
(AWT) facility for household waste at Eastern
Creek in 2004 in partnership
with Global Renewables.
Then in 2008 we launched Macarthur
Resource Recovery Park, which
is home to the EcolibriumTM
Mixed Waste facility, developed
using ArrowBio technology, and the EcolibriumTM
Organics facility, which uses
tunnel composting technology.
To manage the transition to more sustainable waste management we aim to
build more ARRT facilities across our network.
